One would be extremely fortunate and lucky to have a person like Lion Marty Kalhok come into their life.  We were delighted to have Lion Marty as one of our most respected and loved members.

 Marty joined the Hebron Lions Club in 1991 and became a dedicated Life member in 2013. Lion Marty loved his community the Hebron Lions and would do almost anything to help someone in need. He had a true Lions heart.

Marty was called Dad, Grampa, Uncle Marty or just friend by the Hebron Lions family. Lion Marty was loved by all that he touched.  He loved playing the role of Grampa to the Lions children, often you would hear them ask “where is Marty” when they came in the door.  He was always the first person they wanted to see. He always had a hug and kiss for all the women and a greeting to all the men. If you were feeling down, Marty seemed to always know how to make you laugh. 

Lion Marty along with his daughter Mary, son-in-law Lion Bob Schadtle and Lion Don Spragg, started the Children’s Pedal Tractor Pull which has been going on now for over 25 years. Marty was a big part of this event and had a wonderful way with the children. Marty could be found at the fairgrounds which was like a second home to him numerous hours each week doing anything from mowing the grass to working at the food booth.
